This may be the wackiest piece of advertising content I’ve ever been involved with creating, but it’s also a personal favorite. The story goes that New York was on the cusp of being the next state where the Caesars Sportsbook sports betting app was going live. In anticipation of the launch date, the Caesars servers that would be powering the app were being sent from Las Vegas to an undisclosed location in upstate New York. Our team was asked to create a piece of content that captured the servers as they arrived.
Since we had been working closely with Kenny Mayne on our cartoon series, I had the idea to have him come to the airport and do report on the servers’ arrival live from the tarmac, in a similar style to the way reporters would cover the arrival of The Beatles or the Queen. In less than 72 hours, we pulled together the production, the permissions needed to be on the tarmac, choreographed the flight’s landing at Stewart Airport in Upstate NY, and captured Kenny as he nailed his bit as an old school reporter. Some fun stuff in here, enjoy.
