Urban Legends is a new Universal Music imprint that celebrates classic hip-hop and R&B albums from the past with limited edition reissues and original content. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Slick Rick’s debut The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, I was asked to write an interview feature about the making of the album and its impact on hip-hop then and now. I had the chance conduct a one hour interview with Slick Rick, as well as speak to Def Jam legends Lyor Cohen and Bill Adler.
In addition, I was asked to write a piece celebrating the 25th anniversary of LL Cool J’s 14 Shots To The Dome album, the 20th anniversary of DMX’s Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood, and more. Click the link below to read them all.
