 To support the release of Do Remember: The Golden Era of NYC Hip-Hop Mixtapes in the digital space, my co-author Evan Auerbach and I started a newsletter series we simply called 50 Tapes. On our Do Remember! Substack, we posted 50 mixtapes by 50 different mixtape DJs in celebration of 50 years of hip-hop. It was a great way for us to expand on the content inside Do Remember!, share unpublished interview quotes, and most importantly, post the actual audio of classic NYC hip-hop mixtapes.
