To support the launch of the new combined Bally Bet Sportsbook & Casino app and the “Double The Fun” campaign, I wrote and co-produced an all-beatbox rap radio ad featuring my friend and longtime collaborator Max Bent (we previously did a radio spot together for Trojan). Above is a lyric video for the radio spot, featuring the Bally Bet mascot Bally Cat. This got major airtime in New York and New Jersey on big stations like Hot 97, Power 105, and ESPN radio, and it was also posted to Bally Bet’s social channels. Bop along above, and check out the alternate version we made to support the Bally Bet Casino app in Rhode Island below.
In the lead-up to the “Double The Fun” campaign, which also included TV spots, OOH, and digital ads, there was a separate yet connected launch campaign centered around the classic dating app direct message “DTF?” which we used as a misdirect to stir up buzz for the unveiling of the combined app. Now while I can’t take credit for coming up with “DTF?” (it came from an outside agency we hired to handle the TV spots and I played a client role in the process), I did have double the fun coming up with extensions for it. See two of my favorites below—a DTF? coaster (I love making coasters lol) and a pair of DTF? Tinder ads.
