 In support of the release of our book Do Remember! The Golden Era of NYC Hip-Hop Mixtapes, Evan and I wanted to create an actual mixtape on cassette that we could use as a promotional item for the book, and sell as part of the overal Do Remember! merch collection. So we did just that. We flipped a classic Tape Kingz-style mixtape cover and Burkina-style cassette, created icons inspired by some of the most renowned hip-hop mixtape brands (eg Desert Storm), and edited together two sides of carefully curated NYC mixtape moments accompanied by audio clips from the Do Remember! interviews we conducted for the book.
